GENERAL GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES
White Water Lodge is surrounded by magnificent natural beauty.
The crystal clear water of our ponds and rivers are fed by
mountain streams which are home to trophy size rainbow trout.
Beautiful beaches, salt water lagoons, the Atlantic ocean and
all types of activities are within close proximity of White
Water Lodge.
FINANCIAL
Unit of currency is the South African Rand (R), consisting of
100 cents. Bank notes are issued in the following denominations
: R10, R20, R50, R100, R200.
PAYMENT
Cash, Travellers Cheques, Diner's Club or Master/Visa/Amex Card.
HOW TO GET THERE
By Helicopter transfer (20 minutes from Cape Town International
airport) to White Water Lodge landing area or by rental car or
limousine transfer. (90 minutes from Cape Town International)
Driving Tips : The rule of the road is to keep to the LEFT. On
highways a 120 km per hour speed limit is strictly enforced and
in urban areas the speed limit is 60 km per hour.
POSTAL SERVICES
Hours of business are usually between 08h30 and 16h30 on
weekdays and from 08h00-12h00 on Saturdays. |
TELEPHONE SERVICES
Telephones are fully automatic with direct dialling to most
countries. Cell phones can be hired at the airport. There is
good cell phone reception is available at White Water Lodge.
DRINKING WATER
All water is from our mountain springs and is additionally
processed at White Water Lodge to ensure your safety. Bottled
water is also available.
MEDICAL SERVICES
White Water Lodge has an arrangement with a private hospital
in Hermanus for an emergency.
ELECTRICITY
220/230 volts 50 Hz. 110 volt AC sockets for electric razors
only. International adaptors are available.
STANDARD TIME
Throughout the year : 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time; 1
hour ahead of Central European Winter Time and 7 hours ahead of
USA Eastern Standard Winter Time.
VAT (Value Added Tax)
VAT is 14% and the tourism levy of 1% is not included in the
price of goods and services at White Water Lodge.
TIPPING
Tipping at the end of each stay in White Water Lodge is at your
discretion and should be based solely on the quality of service
received. Should you wish to tip, guides are tipped
individually. For White Water Lodge staff we recommend you make
use of the gratuities box. |
